To say that being a follower of Christ is easy would be the most untrue statement I could ever make. The hardships, trials, testings, and tribulations that He allows us to endure are mentally and physically extensive and exhausting.
Lately, I have been in a state of spiritual neutrality. Hearing the loud, obnoxious voice of the flesh, and trying to discern between that and the quiet, subtle voice of the Spirit has been extremely difficult.
But I learned why…
I learned that I knew ‘why’ the whole time. Spiritual neutrality comes from not treasuring the Word, from not seeing Christ as the authoritative and all-powerful Lord that He is, and thusly not surrendering every circumstance to His will because of our pride. We space ourselves from Him and away from His discipline because we’re afraid to be changed.
Knowing these truths, and spending time completely surrendered to Christ will take the complacent Christian (me as of late) to a new place of spiritual revival!
Realize The Word is living, transforming, reviving, and that is because the God who spoke it is reclaiming, redeeming, and reconciling His children to His glory!
JUST LET HIM CHANGE YOU. The process of transformation is hard as He chisels us, and the trials we face are difficult. That’s why this Christian life is not easy, but oh will this current suffering be worth the glory to know and treasure Christ forever. The hardships will not stop while we are here, but neither will the eternal love and grace the Father has for us, and that makes all these trials worth it so we may fully know Him.
