TO JONNY WITH LOVE

-by Donna Gregoire

There’s a hole in my heart where you once dwelled
where all my hopes and dreams were held.

God formed you in beauty in the secret place
against all odds beyond time and space.

He filled you with love and a passionate story
you lived it so well giving God all the glory!

Your beautiful smile showed each person you cared
by the prayers and God’s word you unselfishly shared.

Now this hole in my heart where you used to be
God’s filling with peace beyond measure.

For knowing with Jesus you safely now live
is the joy I’ll forevermore treasure.

Love always,
–Mom

IN WIL’BRAM’S BOSOM LIES A TOMB

-by Josh Rowley

In Wilbr’am’s Bosom Lies a Tomb
Where shovels filled with grief did dig
now over which new grass is strewn
beside the evergreen so big
The Master’s ways are not our own
We know our friend is safely home

One autumn noon death’s first full spade
was dug upon a southern bridge-
the last atop young body laid
a Man and Dust bound in marriage
The Master’s ways are not our own
We know our friend is safely home

So weeping we who knew him best
who can’t believe that he is gone
who know his soul’s in heaven’s rest
though his body lay ‘neath grassy lawn
The Master’s ways are not our own
we know our friend is safely home

and till’ that day when trumpet sound
when flesh and spirit come to meet
and all who then in Him be found
unite with him o’r Tinkham Street
The Master’s ways are not our own
we know our friend is safely home

So on and on the centuries roll.
and glories stack on glories high
yet evermore such greatful soul
will blissful with his Savior lie
The Master’s ways are not our own
we know our friend is safely home
The Master sits upon His throne
We know our friend is safely home

Till Christ returns to claim His own
we know our friend is safely home

Now three years past it’s hard to see
for those who wait on bended knee
that sorrow is a borrowed load
and we await a new abode
For Christ shall break the sky above
when Mountains fall and valleys Rise
Then He with the Church–Oh Saviour’s love!
Shall wed with Christ be made alive!
